The next weekend represents the annual SEBRIRING 1st running, and it is one of the great sports car races. To get yourself in the soul, watch this recently published video about the operation of 1964. It is overflowing with amazing cars, drivers and incredible work.
In the sharp end of the field, it was the least issue “Who will win?” And more, “What Ferrari Wne?” 275 PS dominated the first model category of 33.0 liters from start to finish. Moreover, things become more interesting, as Shelby Kobra and Ferrari 250 GTOS are fighting for the GT 5.0 liter category, Cobra Daytona won and fourth in general.
There are other interesting cars representing a wide range of sports cars in the mid -sixties. For Porsches, you have 904 Carrera GTS, 718, a handful of 356 Carreras, and some of its structure from Zagato sports. When talking about Zogato, Alpha Romeo brought a couple of great Giulia Tz, and as you expected to race this time, there is a group of Austin-Hilli 3000, Sprites and MG BS.
Corvette Grand Sport was forced to the race as a preliminary model as Chevrolet built a handful of examples only, but even with the leadership of Roger Pinsk and AJ Foyt, they were unable to overcome the cobra. The most surprising is a handful of Volvo P1800s, and for good, a 1.0 -liter Alpine couple that looks very amazing.
It is a great look back, and reminds us of the racing of primitive sports cars on this day. This was the highest level, but everything looks informal, despite the enormous talents and machines in the path. It is far from what we will see from Sebring within two days, but many big names – Porsche, Corvette, Ferrari and Ford – will be very present.
