Even though Instagram has been a social networking platform since 2010, it still lacks an iPad app. The last time we heard about the network’s interest on tablets was in 2022, when Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram, claimed that there weren’t enough iPad users to justify creating a native app. A perplexing perspective, but one that might be shifting at last.

Mosseri has also discussed intentions to enhance Instagram’s content search functionality. In an episode of the Build Your Tribe podcast, he stated, “You can imagine, whatever you use Instagram for, it’d be great to be able to find ‘that’ more easily.” “But also for creators … it should allow content to resurface so that you don’t get all the value in those first 24 or 48 hours.”
