The new Chinese radical hatchback can be in the United Kingdom by October Autocar

NIO Firefly, a Chinese competitor for Renault 5 and Volkswagen ID 2 in Europe – must be followed by UK sales soon.

The electric Supermini was launched in China in April, where it provided a range of 260 miles (albeit in the easily CLTC test) and one engine with 141 hp installed against the background of about 12,500 pounds.

Firefly was initially announced as a new brand, along with ONVO, but the two were re -placed as a sub -signs of NIO after a short period of launch.

NIO sold about 3680 examples of Firefly in May, the first full month for sale, and played a major role in enhancing the total brand sales of this month by 13.1 % on an annual basis.

Although he appeared only in the form of the left driving so far, President Nio Chen Lieung said at the Shanghai Motor Show that the brand would launch a right -to -UK variable by October.

Although NIO has not yet announced specific plans to launch the United Kingdom, after Autocar told Autocar last year that she was “continuing her preparations to enter”, Lihong’s comment indicates that one of them is imminent.

NIO is currently working on dramatic expansion throughout Europe, as it has pledged to enter 16 new global markets this year alone. It has now confirmed that seven of these European countries: Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Luxembourg, Poland and Romania.

In addition to Firefly, NIO EL6, EL8 Suvs, Et5 Saloon and Et5 Touring Estate will be launched in those markets.

He added that there will be “other news” for Europe in the coming weeks, indicating that the advertisement may be possible.

It is worth noting that Automotive News Europe (ANE) stated in late 2024 that NIO is preparing to launch the Onvo L60, a Tesla Model YUPé competitor, in the United Kingdom this year.

Product Planning Coach Eric Yu told the lack of import tariff in the UK on the Chinese EVS was a major incentive; NIO cars currently undergo an additional power of 31 % in the European Union.
