The M3 CS Touring is not the only sports competition that BMW offers this week at the Goodwood Festival. Bavaria’s Super Wagon shares the lights with the new M2 CS, wearing admiration for velvety blue. The company’s branch in the United Kingdom takes us on a tour of the most G87 (so far) to show what has been changed on an ordinary model.
The Carbon Ducktail spoiler was not the only modified BMW to the body, as the front traitor is also exclusive to the M2 CS. Unlike the F87-Heneration, which appeared on the carbon fiber traitor, this component consists of a mixture of plastic and rubber. Why? According to Dirk Häcker, the head of engineering in M, he is not a measure of cost reduction. The construction of the new break is the result of a decrease in the lower car nose, which makes it more vulnerable to scraping on uneven methods.

Unlike its predecessor, which came with a manual gearbox, the new model is only an automatic relationship. The six -speed guide was not able to handle the additional energy provided by the upgraded S58 engine. The eight -speed Stepstonic arm is located inside the carbon fiber center tunnel, which is not on a standard M2. Carbon fiber bucket seats, optional on the regular car, are standard on CS. BMW includes a cantara -wrapped steering wheel with a flat design, but it receives additional fees for a hot version.
Since Goodwood Fos is held in the United Kingdom, it should be noted that the M2 Cs costs 92,475 pounds locally. This is more than 24,000 pounds more than the basic version, which is enough to buy a new 3 -boch small door with the difference. The price gap is partially justified by additional standard equipment and additional energy. However, it is a huge installment that many will find it difficult to justify, especially given the lack of a manual option.
For all difficulties, the M2 CS already proves that it is a commercial success. Silvia Newpaore, Vice -President of the Customer, brand and sales in M, told us that there is a “great request”. For some markets, BMW has allocated a large number of additional construction openings. At the time of writing this report, the United States was the leading sales region, followed by Germany and China.
