Lamborghini Urus will continue as a hybrid device for the next generation after the electrical alternative has been returned to the middle of the next decade, and CEO Stefan Winkeman Autocar told.
Winkelmann blames the decision to not be able to predict the constantly changing regulations-which may also delay EV’s arrival for the first time in the car maker, a production version of the Lanzador concept that is scheduled to be launched in 2029.
URUS, the best-selling model in Lamborghini, was scheduled to go completely to the next generation before the end of the contract-a plan announced when the hybrid Urus went only in 2024.
However, in his talk to Autocar, Winkelmann confirmed that Urus will now continue in the SE model of its kind in a completely new generation.
“We want to get a new generation again as a hybrid device consisting of that,” he said. “This is a very important thing for us and customers. They were very happy to hear this.”
He suggested that this car arrive in 2029, where the electrical alternative needs to 2035 – the year in which all new cars offered for sale in Europe will need to produce zero emissions.
Not provided any technical details, but it is likely to be based on the current 789BHP model-the strongest frequency of four-wheel drive vehicles so far, which derives the energy from the mixed V8 preparation.
Lamborghini’s decision to keep URUS PHEV for sale is followed by this step by the Porsche’s Volkswagen Group to continue selling the current ice-running Cayenne of URUS-besides EV in paying profitability with the customer’s interest in staging for electric cars.
In response to a question about whether the electric Urus can be launched earlier in 2035, and like Cayenne, it is sold alongside the third generation of SUV ice, Winkman said: “We are now us [have] We decided for the next generation, we have enough time to find out what is happening in terms of acceptance, in terms of regulations, in terms of infrastructure, and last and not least, the conditions for changing generations. “
Winkman said that although the upcoming Cayenne will be a highly adhering to the current car, the new URUS will be a completely new generation. When asked what we could expect, he said: “Future car designs have not yet been fixed.”
By the time when Urus arrives, EV will be the second in the stable Lamborghini. Winkelmann repeated that “by the end of this contract, the correct timing” of the production version of Lanzador, but added that a decision on delay will be taken at the beginning of next year. It is currently scheduled in 2029 after being returned last year in 2028.
