Recently Autocar PodcastAuto giant Gordon Murray Teased a bold future for Gordon Murray Motors (GMA) which goes far beyond its T.50 and T.33 supercars. Murray noted that a completely new vehicle – designed according to a completely new architecture – will arrive in 2028. This exciting development comes after the end of production of his ongoing high-performance range.
“I don’t want to keep following the same formula,” Murray said. “At the other end of that scale is the next car we start producing after the final version T.33 S It is a completely new vehicle, a completely different car that will be built from the ground up.
New vision, new look
Murray was in no mood to divulge details, offering only tantalizing clues. while T.50 and T.33 mid-engined configurations, this new model will take a “completely different approach”. Although speculation includes anything from a front-engined coupe to a sedan and even a shooting brake, Murray has flatly ruled out the idea of an SUV.
However, he happily promised that this latest creation would be “the best of its kind” and the car he “always wanted to design.” Like his previous masterpieces, the new model will be produced in just 100 examples, making it highly exclusive and ready to attract the attention of collectors.
The powertrain puzzle
At the same time, GMACosworth’s signature piece of engineering – the Cosworth V-12 – will almost certainly remain the beating heart of this new car.
