Ford remember 240,510 SUVs due to problems with seat belt devices.
The summons includes 2020 and 2021 Ford Explorer and Lincoln Birds Models that may have an incorrectly cut seat belt screws, according to NHTSA. In addition, vehicles equipped with concentrated seats in the second row may be incorrectly guaranteed to take the belt at this sitting site.
NHTSA indicated that the screws in multiple sitting situations may be incorrectly guaranteed. If the screws are not sufficiently narrow, they can prevent seat belts from restricting passengers properly during a collision, which increases the risk of infection. Ford indicated that the spray and graphics could be the idea that the screws are not properly insured.
Ford NHTSA told that it is not aware of any injuries related to this issue, but it received five relevant guarantee requests – one of which prevents the auto industry company to the problem. The investigation continues the root cause, but Ford believes it is linked to a resource that deviates from standard operating procedures in the assembly process.
Traders will examine seat belts anchor nails in all sites of sitting, as well as bolts of seat belt defender in the second place on very equipped vehicles. If loose screws are found, Ford said some ingredients will be replaced. All this work will be carried out for free, and Ford will pay customers for any related work that they may have done to their factors.
