“What is this?” Curriculum spectators ask as they gather around the low sports car in the parking lot. Then the follow -up comes – “Is this Ferrari?”
Questions started from the moment I picked up Chevrolet Corvette online At Sydney Airport. There was a collective “ooooh” where my weekend moved to the Qantas Valet area, while I was in the brilliant acceptance of the keys there.
Even in a silent shadow of gray, the electronic rays are a car that causes attention, just as Chevrolet intends.
After all, it differs from any other Corvette that came before.
For the eighth army C8 Corvette Stingray, Chevrolet moved the engine from under the hood to behind the cabin-the first of the panel. The most strange Italian, the lowest American muscle car.
But this was not enough for the ambitious product planners in General Motors. The Z06 was not ready for the track, which presented a flat Kranks V8 pushing 475 kW and 595 nm.

Our journey to Corvette citizens
Because with the first global Corvette, Chevrolet did not just wanted to escape from Porsche’s shadow and its best sales 911. No, she wanted a seat on the table with Ferrari, Lamborghini and McLaren.
This requires innovation and take calculated risks.
The result? Electronic rays, with E stands for electricity. This is illustrated-medium motor, hybrid chorphite.
It is a lot for treatment, even for the emotional masses of the brand. This brings me back to the reason I travel to Sydney to lead electronic rays in the first place.
With electronic, we only landed on Australian soil, and General Motors called us to direct one of the first examples to the annual Corvette citizens, a gathering of thirsty enthusiasts from all over the country.
With the embraced airport delivered away, my brother James began a 358 km trip from Sydney to Parks, a small town in New South Wales.

Corvette Stingray
From the beginning, we liked our new companion … but not for the reasons you may expect.
If we are placed regardless of the crazy, superior design, future hybrid transmission roundabout, and Corvette E-ray, Corvette E-ray makes a surprisingly practical road vehicle.
There are 357 liters that have been demanded via the front and back shoes – a lot enough for some bags overnight, or a group of golf clubs if you tend this way.
The strange and wonderful cabin is very wide, too. Once the comic strip of the buttons that separate the driver from the passengers in the cabin style exceeded, it is easy to feel comfortable, even for a few feet.
We were grateful, because, because, because the five -hour pillar to Parks is interspersed with bad maintenance sections of regional highways that leave no questions about the quality of the car riding.
But before reaching the open road, we had to get it out of Sydney, which is easier than doing it. The first obstacle – airport speed bumps.

Directly at home in the suburb of Sydney
Usually this traffic devices scene are sufficient to make any Super Searin owner shivering, but like all the suited cars, this Ray E is a trick in the form of a nose lifting mechanism.
I approached the first stumbling block with more than a hint of fear, but the simple pressure of the nose lifting button quickly relieves my mind. Simply put, the system works to treat. Well, in fact, I almost tend to search for a similar setting for my 2009 Mazda MX-5, which carries the battle scars from confrontations with a large corridor.
Besides the airport land, a new challenge itself – Sydney Traffic. We sailed from the amulet at about 2:00 pm on Friday, before the peak hour, but until then electronic rays were forced to face the long waiting lists that leave the city.
The strange models of yesterday (including previous Corvettes) tend to leave drivers hot, harassment, and a partition headache monitoring such situations, but not electronic rays.
Although the 6.2 -liter V8 sits directly behind your ears, it is not particularly noisy when driving self -control.
As you expected a car with about 20 button for climate controls, air conditioning is strong and cold.

Tracking work at local launch
The carbon-backed GT2 Black seats in our carbon test and ventilation test in three stages-a feature worth thinking about the unexpected weather in Australia.
Do not get it twisted, because Corvette is not a luxurious lime. Tire roar is pronounced on old sections of the airport runway, and the vision becomes limited, while the function of helping to maintain a very arrogant lane.
However, we were able to escape from Sydney through our collective mind, and a lot of the remaining energy to exploit electronic radiology talents.
Because after all, this is a car you want to try on the open road. And while we went up to the blue mountains, this point was well proven.
Adding an electric motor installed on the front blesses the electronic rays with more rays than its siblings, all of which are suitable for use from the power delivery courtesy to all four wheels, with V8 leads the rear axle as it should, and the electric motor leads the front axis to provide more performance of the documentation line and the air process.
The high rear cars can be difficult to maintain the rectum and distress, but it is easy to drive despite their brutal acceleration.

What is the way without snacks of support?
Better, the hybridization has already improved from the Corvette in the audio section. Under Throttle, the electronic rays produce a familiar roar for Guttural V8, associated with activating an electric motor, creating a really unique sky experience in the cabin.
It is one punch of performance and noise, and it is a mechanical and electronic symphony … a rope -resistant rocket ship.
When driving a free flowing manner, the transmission comes on its own, providing rapid transformations through a group of carbon fiberglass converters. There is no pile of twisted sections between Sydney and Parks, but I can also report that the guidance is direct and beloved.
Perhaps it will not be a shock that the electronic rays are a treatment for their leadership, but I was surprised by a average fuel consumption of 10.8 liters/100 km. Toyota Camry is not, but this is very good for the V8 missile.
As a result, we did not need to fill along the way. This does not mean that we did not make two pitstops.
Because what is the way without caffeine and snacks from the services station of the price?

I can’t stand there, my friend!
After storing in Glenbroook, we continued the West through the lush forest towards Parkes, taking into account in strange towns spread on our way.
It was until we got out of the blue mountains and stumbled through the Australian car icon – Pathors.
Can you think about a more suitable place to visit in a super V8?
Despite the narrow timetable, we sneak into a short short image and slow slowness around the circle of Jabal Panorama. I say slowly because the general line racing track suffers from severe mobilization, as the maximum speed is only 60 km/hour.
However, electronic rays felt at home across the top of the mountain, and the suspense followed the signs of tires from the Rispport sauids.
With the regeneration of the remaining road forward, we did the Parks paths, which are sunset.

Corvette acquisition of Motel North Parks
Country NSW threw everything to us during that last station, from darkness to rain and the roads that were poorly maintained, but the electronic rays dealt with everything with grace.
In circumstances that were not favorable to vibrant driving, the focus was on the inner part of the electronic rays.
Aside from a comfortable set of chairs and excellent Aircon, inside the C8 Corvette is part of a mixed bag. On the one hand, the cabin offers much better than Corvettes of Old, and you feel distinctive to sit in it.
I am also able to abundantly communicate and liberal use of brilliant carbon fiber.
However, the display of moderate information appears small in a laughter in his residence, and there are still some screams and fees that indicate the quality of construction below optimal.
These faults are faded compared to the joy that I faced during our five -hour journey, which reached its end in the North Parks Mot. One of the great privileges of the electronic class is the “hidden mode”-the ability to decline in a motor in full silence, only works on electrical energy.

Saturday brought with him the main event – the 2025 National Congress.
The Nationals is designed to collect Corvette enthusiasts together to celebrate the American muscles, an annual event that attracts cars from all corners of the country.
In Parks this year, the event started with a show in the city center, and the locals did not like it!
The convoy rolled to Parkes Showgrouments, where the main screen occurred. Now, you have to forgive my ignorance, but I assumed that this would be a specialized meeting and a small size.
After all, it was not always easy to put your hands on Corvette in Australia.
All generations were produced only before the C8 is produced in the left drive, which prevents them from selling it officially. This means that all the previous generation Corvettes in Australia are special imports.

But unlike my expectations, there was a strong group in Corvette in Parks-at least 210 Corvette fans and 105 cars that were produced between 1953-2025, precisely.
This may not seem as a huge, but impressive, given the obstacles associated with Corvette Classic possession in Australia. First, there is an import process, then you have to think about converting a potential RHD, the availability of limited parts, and lack of support for the local factory.
Perhaps this is what makes the Australian Corvette community one of the most fans of the car vehicles that happened. Every owner of his device is known from the inside out, and cooperation is necessary to keep cars on the road.
What’s more, one Corvette simply is not enough for many owners you spoke with. Some had two or more examples, while a few lucky were proud of a handful.
This is partially a secondary result of the demographic owner-we only say that we are among the youngest attendees.
There was a healthy mixture of the models offered, from the original C1s to the honor of the C2 Grand Sport, and a lot of C8s. But nothing is like our electronic rays.

C8 Z06 and E-ray It represents the new strain
Being one of the first in the country, electronic rays attracted a crowd immediately. My mission was to provide any of the events of the events, which there were many.
Some asked about the hybrid system, while others about the specifications and mark. The traditionalists were looking for a reason that this is the disinfectant Vette.
But at the end of the day, I felt that most of them liked this new rotation on the old recipe.
I also took myself to offer some joy. A mixture of accidental excitement, including wide children, curious, and general fans of the badge.
It is safe to say a look at their faces when every 488 kW and 806nm were never bigger. The roar of hybrid, hybrid electrical and electrician is intoxicating, as well as the acceleration of the melting of the face, and it was useful to share this experience with others.
At a broader level, it was important to see a car culture alive and flourish in Australia. Some people may think that our collective passion is dwindling, but events such as Corvette are citizens who refuted this.

Our test was stopped besides C8 Z06 at the conference, and while the latter was common to the Aero and Rorty Note, the “electronic” left a unique impression of the crowd.
It is a car that has exchanged innovation without isolating Corvette fans for a long time. Chevrolet could have pretended that they were providing the world by making electronic rays a hybrid sports car for fuel or all electrical technology, but instead they raised the tape of what might be a superb car.
At $ 275,000 before costs and options on the road, it is a relative deal compared to the workshops, McLares, Ferraris, and Lamburghenis in this world.
For this reason, I am sure that when the next Corvette National Congress rolls, there will be a long line of online rays offered.
The Sun Chainland coast in Queensland hosts the 36th gathering, to be held from March 20 to 23, 2026.
