Apple announced yesterday the latest upgrade to its iPhone operating program, and will bring many new changes and features to drivers who use Apple Carplay in their cars.
Macromors Reports that the update of the iOS 26 will bring a new “Liquid Glass” design that will be supported by the updated CarPlay system, both will be released later this year.
IOS 26 is now available for beta test by developers and will be open to the general experimental version test next month.

But when the updated iPhone and Carplay systems are available later this year, the new liquid glass design will be linked to a new compact vision of incoming calls, which finally allows users to know who is connected without banning major information such as mobility trends.
When using CarPlay with iPhone Running iOS 26, the new liquid glass design will extend to the CarPlay interface. As with iPhone, the new appearance will include more “Shimmery” application icons and transparent user interface elements.
The iOS update will also attend new messages application features, allowing you to respond to the messages that contain standard Tapbacks points such as thumb, heart, or expressive symbol marks directly through CarPlay.
You will also be able to display conversations installed in the messaging application on CarPlay.
CarPlay’s new Dashboard screen will display live activities, allowing users to track events, including flight departure times.
There will also be a customizable customizable screen, which was only previously available with CarPlay Ultra, to see things like calendar dates and homekit accessories control items.
With this exception, all these new features and changes will also come to CarPlay Ultra.
