Volvo and Polestar cars signed a memorandum of understanding of the partnership in developing and producing the Polestar 7 Electric SUV 2028.
The upcoming Polestar will be 7 SUVs (humor below) a distinctive sporty electric vehicle that was first prepared in 2028. The technology base will be used from the next generation of Volvo, benefit from common ingredients, the latest electric motors in Volvo, and the battery design from the cell to the body (directly integrated battery cells in the body body structure or the slice structure).
The technology sharing approach creates driving efficiency and cost benefits, which will lead to a decrease in the average cost per vehicle.
The CEO of Volvo, Hakan Samuelson, said that the Memorandum of Understanding “confirms how Volvo and Politar cars continue to take advantage of the synergy to provide distinct compounds efficiently” to the customers of the whole brand. Michael Lahechiller, CEO of Polestar, added that working with Volvo is a “unique opportunity”, allowing Polistar to access Volvo’s latest technology in a cost -saving manner, and Polestar 7 will help set “new standards in the integrated SUV sector.” In short, cooperation allows Volvo and Politar to combine the sports design of Polistar and the Volvo Safety Heritage.
The Kosice factory will be the third manufacturing factory for Volvo cars in Europe and aims to build electric cars only, and to cancel Volvo aspirations towards manufacturing electric cars and 0 carbon emissions by 2040. Volvo has invested about 1.2 billion euros on the site, which benefits the ripe Slovenian supply chain. The factory is designed to produce up to 250,000 cars annually and should be created several thousand jobs.
