The new Skoda that displays the Octavia ESTATE inspection of the next generation will perform a “lot of sophistication and controversial discussion” of the brand while moving to a new era of design.
Claus Zelamer, CEO of Skoda Autocar, told the brand “another” of its design, but it will remain “clearly recognized as Skoda”.
The concept of real estate, which will be revealed at the Munich Motor Show in September, will be based on the upcoming SSP platform for the Volkswagen Group, which is designed for the next generation of electric cars that will follow those in the current MEB structure.
Zelmer said that the brand decided to wait for an electrical octavia to launch this architecture because the current MEB is not perfectly suitable for salon and real estate models, and it is more designed for high operations. Skoda also believed that the model would need automatic leadership features of the next generation provided on the SSP platform.
The new Octavia concept will help to “further develop the brand and brand ambition”, but it will also remain “agreed to our roots”, instead of being a sign of the brand trying to get out of the main current.
A production version of the concept is not due until the end of the contract. However, Zellmer hinted that it is an option to sell the electric drug along with an updated version of the current combustion engine to ensure the brand continues to provide a full set of power engine.
“There is sufficient size in the market for us for two cars in parallel. All this depends on customer morale, especially in the fleet market. We will keep all the ways open,” he said.
Zellmer said that a hybrid version consisting of Octavia will be re -launched after a revival in this market.
Zellmer emphasized that the update of Fabia, Scala and Kamiq models, which you will update to EURO 7 emissions, will keep it for sale “after 2030”.
This reflects a previous decision to plan out and replace them with a new electric car for beginners from EPIQ next year.
Zelmer said, there is now “equal prices but not cost costs” for electric cars and combustion motor cars, as Zilmer, the main focus of EV development is to reduce costs where possible.
Another new production version for the next year is a production version of the CONCEPT 7S Concept that seats, which will be the new “leading” brand. Zelmer said the brand is still working on a car name, but it is called “Space Bev” due to the amount of interior space.
