In the last month, Samsung announced the release of its One UI 7.0 Beta update for Samsung’s Samsung Galaxy A55 and along with it was a snarky restriction. Samsung stated that the update would be available only via the Wi-Fi network, and the rule may be extended to other devices in the near future.

First time, since the launch in the One UI Beta Program, Samsung announced that beta updates could be downloaded onto an Galaxy phone via an internet connection and not via a mobile connection. This was not the case with previous (previous) smartphones, like Galaxy S23, Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy S23, Galaxy S24, Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Galaxy Z Fold 6.

It was stated on the Galaxy A55’s OneUI 7 Beta Program sign-up advertisement in which it was stated that ” starting this year, you can only download the Beta version in a Wi-Fi environment.” This statement suggests the possibility of Wi-Fi connectivity expanding to other devices in the near future.

We don’t know the reason Samsung has introduced this restriction considering that cellular connections are increasing everywhere in around the world. Furthermore, the ability to download updates via cellular networks gives the user greater flexibility. We’d love to hear the official reason for this limitation in the near future.
