Every day a fool in April, BMW lovers themselves. From fake capture trucks to fairy tills, we saw our fair share of Munich’s complex joke. But 2025 gave us a curve. What started as another fun joke-a brutal idea about converting a friendly BMW M3 to the full GT3 race-has become a very real and excellent building. It was found that the independent creative director Simon Von Brut and his talented team took the joke seriously – seriously. Instead of deceiving Photoshop, they held a M3 production tour, and they boldly began to turn it into something ready for the race, borrowing elements of the M4 GT3 EVO and the manufactured parts that did not exist.
How did they do so (hint: not easily)
Make the GT3 GT3 race not clear. BMW simply does not make GT3 Aero groups for vehicles – why will they do? Therefore, the von Brook team has formulated completely new body panels of scratch. Wider bumpers, aggressive Aero, dedicated side glass – this was not out of the shelf. Even the team may deal with the most difficult part: those beautiful and incredibly complex air interventions in the back doors, carefully defined the appearance of the GT3 contestant. The result? The original GT3 car is complete with the feelings of an authentic-race-class car, wide parking, holes, and everything.
Wait, rider of a cart?
As it seems crazy, this construction raises a very fun question: Why don’t we really have a vehicle race? Imagine car championships-literally-with high-power vehicles to switch paint. It is not practical as it is irresistible. But as car lovers, isn’t we allowed to dream? The best part of this construction may be the extent of repairing something that always feels a little embarrassment in the M3 factory tours – the rear wheel glow treatment. BMW traditionally re -uses the standard cart doors, forcing strange concessions to the interesting brackets. Von Body’s approach beautifully integrates the wide shape, making the BMW solution for a comparison.
More than one time?
Realistically, do not expect BMW Motorsport to suddenly wander around the M3 tour of GT3. After all, they have the M4 GT3 EVO to do so. But this is magic here – this was not about practical application. It was a matter of emotion, craftsmanship, and evidence that a joke could become amazingly great. Perhaps BMW will not put a rider of a cart on the right track any time soon. But in a brief moment, a handful of enthusiasts proved that “impossible” ideas are sometimes impossible as our imagination allows.
And now we want more.
