Koenigsegg does not traditionally do things. Swedish car maker creations are home to all types of unusual engineering solutions. This is true in Gemera, the first Koenigsegg and the first SUV. As the founder, Christian von Congegage, explains in this video, the crime has no differentiation.
Well, the traditional differentiation is not like this.
At the back, GEMERA has a double-turbo dual turbocharged turbo with a nine-speed transmission of Tourbillon (LST). Instead of using the straight CV joints that come out of the differentiation, as you expect with Trancex, this transmission has “tapes” on both sides, which move the energy forward to the wheels. Instead of operating the power 90 degrees from the output column, the power LST turns 270 degrees, allowing the V-8 field.
In every cassette, there is a hydraulic clutch that regulates energy for the wheel. Therefore, you have a system that works like an electronic locking, but with the explosion of parts instead of being in one unit.
It took me some time to understand it too.
This is also a four -wheel drive vehicle, so LST has an output column that works on the front axle as well. At the end, there is an electric motor, and another mechanism-not abandoning others, with a gear and hydraulic midwives for each wheel.
All this crazy, allows unique capabilities. Koenigsegg also indicates, this is the only car that has one electric motor, but it is completely changing torque in EV mode. To add to all of this, GEMERA also has brake torque.
The video is worth watching an insight into a system only Koenigsegg can come. There is nothing really like it.
