Specializes in small cars Suzuki It has unveiled more exciting versions of its most popular models, although we may not see them in showrooms.
At the Bharat Mobility Expo in India, Maruti Suzuki – the brand’s subsidiary in the Indian subcontinent – unveiled bolder versions of the five-door Jimny XL off-roader and the Swift hatchback.
The Suzuki Jimny Conqueror Concept builds on the 4×4’s popularity in the off-road community, with the sand-colored matte paint transitioning to black and similar finishes on the front bumper and wheels.

Suzuki has also fitted a winch, roof racks, recovery tracks, external fuel storage and a rear ladder, while the current model’s wheels are wrapped in all-terrain tyres.
It is understood there is no change under the bonnet, meaning it retains the 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, producing 75kW of power and 130Nm of torque.
While Suzuki didn’t get any extra power for the Jimny, Australian tuning specialists Harrop last year developed a supercharger kit for the Jimny, delivering 60 per cent more power and 40 per cent more torque.
While all Jimny XLs sold in Australia come from India, the three-door comes from Japan.
Suzuki’s second model is called ‘Swift Champions’, based on the new generation model that debuted in Australia last year.
Based on the hatchback’s new design, the Champions package adds a front splitter, side skirts, a different lower rear bumper apron, a muscular rear spoiler and wheel arch extensions, underneath which are black wheels with white tire lettering.
It is not expected that this new generation of Suzuki Swift Sport will be previewed.
Japanese port Best car It was reported in July last year that the new Swift Sport would be unveiled in September and would go on sale in Japan by the end of 2024. But this never came to fruition.
The Australian-delivered, made-in-Japan Swift is powered by a 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine with 12V mild-hybrid assist, producing 60kW and 110Nm.
For context, the previous Swift Sport – which is still sold in Europe – used a 1.4-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with 48V mild-hybrid assist, generating 96kW and 234Nm. Australian versions without the mild hybrid system produced 8kW and 5Nm more.
Other concepts showcased by Maruti Suzuki included the Fronex with Turbo badging and black/red transition stripes, and other India-only models with cosmetic tweaks.
