Watch: Toyota Prado owner’s embarrassing accident while chasing a cricketer for his autograph

Sam Konstas rose to stardom on Boxing Day after scoring 60 runs on his debut for the Australian cricket team, and fans were eager to get their hands on the signature of the 19-year-old rising star.

But some are more careful than others, with one man’s enthusiasm resulting in damage to his new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado and an innocent bystander’s Mitsubishi Lancer.

The footage has been uploaded to Instagram (Click embed below) By Sydney Thunder – Konstas’ Big Bash League team – Shows the arrival of the opening Test at Cricket Central at Sydney Olympic Park, where a fan sees him entering the facility with his kit bag.

In his haste to try and get an autograph from Constas, the driver parks the Prado in a dead-end spot, before jumping out of the car – apparently accidentally putting it in Drive instead of Park.

As he approaches Constas, the owner looks back to see his car crawling forward, although despite his best efforts, he does not reach it in time to prevent it colliding with the Lancer at low speed.

Fortunately, there were no injuries, except for the ego of the Prado owner.

Ironically, Toyota is Cricket Australia’s main sponsor, and Constas wore its logo in the two Tests it played for the Test team against India.
